Weekend Shopping Update: September 25th, 2010

LOTS of great options this weekend – I’ll certainly be trying my best to make it out to all of them!

Great local shopping for your little one – or for any SmartMomma you love!
SmartMomma Grand Opening (in their new location!)
Saturday – 9/25 – 10:00am until 6:00pm
First 100 families to arrive are getting a nice free gift, which may include a VERY nice discount from SmartMomma’s neighbors at Fred’s Beds. Just throwing that out there… 😉

Support your independent artist, crafters, and businesses at this seasonal one-day event!
Downtown Designers Market (is back!)
Saturday – 9/25 – 9:00am until 3:00pm
Jewelry, crafts, apparel, and other fab vendors in the Ornamentea parking lot!

While not entirely retail related, this is totally worth a note. After all, with all the shopping there is to be done, you’re going to need to make room for it all!
The Green Chair Project Fall Furnishings Drive
Saturday – 9/25 – 9:00am until 1:00pm
Got stuff? Donate it to keep it out of landfills – and help those who need it!

Take a walk on the wild side! Although founded as a bike show, there is certainly no lack of retail and food vendors at this Downtown event. (And free concerts all day, too!) The presenting business is also a local retailer – Ray Price Harley Davidson.
Ray Price Capital City Bike Fest
Friday and Saturday – 9/24 and 9/25 – 10:00am until 10:00pm

About as local as it gets, come on out to support the local businesses on Hillsborough Street who have made it through the dearly needed renovation! (PS – I’ll also be hanging out with the Shop Local Raleigh crew at their tent from 6-8pm… come visit!)
Hillsborough Street Reopening
Saturday – 9/25 – 1:00pm until 10:00pm

Later this weekend I’ll also be posting an update featuring lots of new fall favorites from local retailers… courtesy of last night’s check in on my Google Reader blog subscriptions. Is there a local retail blog you love? Let me know about it so I can include them, too! (Attention Retailers: Self nominations are not only accepted, but downright encouraged!)

Shop on!
