Today’s TBT (Throwback Thursday) features the mind-blowing photographs from the September 12 Rubbish 2 Runway fashion show in Chapel Hill at FRANK Gallery.
I first read about this eco-friendly, yet fashion-forward event, in this TBJ article… too late to change my schedule to attend, but in plenty of time to get excited about learning more about the second year of this program and looking forward to attending the third in 2015.
According to the TBJ feature, “17 high school, college and professional designers [created] dresses from everything from cupcake wrappers to playing cards and beyond”. Check out the awe-inspiring hair, make-up, and of course the fashion in the Flickr gallery here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/92950668@N06/with/15261328372/.
As noted on the FRANK Gallery website, “Through this show, FRANK Gallery hopes to introduce a new kind of eco-friendly fashion that stems from local talent, in-keeping with the Town of Chapel Hill’s continued efforts to “move toward becoming a sustainable community.â€
