North Hills is excited to announce WALK: The Runway Series at North Hills, a fashion show partnership with Models for Charity. The first of quarterly fashion shows will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 on the Commons, in front of Regal Cinemas and Ben & Jerry’s, in the Main District at North Hills.
“This new partnership marries the best of Triangle fashion from North Hills with Models for Charity’s compassion for philanthropy, “ said Bonner Gaylord, General Manager of North Hills. “We hope our partnership is a model for other local groups, bloggers, and the community, to use their talents to serve others; and that never goes out of style.â€
“We are excited to partner with North Hills to present this new fashion series,†said Michelle Congleton, founder of Models for Charity. “The fabulous, fashion forward boutiques of North Hills have much to offer the Triangle when it comes to fashion trends and we are looking forward to showcasing those trends on the runway.â€
The first featured charity is the Greater Carolinas MS Society, an organization that friend of Models for Charity and Scout & Molly’s owner, Lisa Kornstein, supports. Lisa was diagnosed with MS in her early 30s and participates in their annual bike fundraiser. She battled with the decision to share her diagnosis, but noted her ability to create awareness of the disease. “I work in a job where I meet new people everyday – all of a sudden I realized this was an opportunity. I could share my knowledge and my experiences as a young, working mom living with MS,†says Lisa. “Models for Charity is an amazing group of women who combine beauty, fashion, and charitable causes to help women feel empowered to make changes and an impact.â€
