Cameron Village is going to be just dripping with coolness in a few short weeks.
According to a press release from Cameron Village, the ITB lifestyle center was once a hotbed for emerging music in the 1970’s including the likes of Pat Benatar, Doc Watson, REM, the Ramones and even Bette Midler. Cameron Village Live will feature Durham-based Merge Records artist The Love Language and others for free to the public on Friday, August 25, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a DJ on stage near Cafe Carolina.
Daniels St. will be blocked off between Clark Avenue and Cameron Street to feature 45 minutes of fast paced fashion, models and music will follow, featuring spring/summer trends–all available at Cameron Village boutiques. Many Village merchants will be open until 8 p.m. that evening, offering special promotions for the event. Beer and wine sales benefit BandTogether.
