It certainly doesn’t feel like spring here in the Carolinas right now, but the calendar says we officially made it last week. I always profess my love for fall fashions in September, but by March I’ve grown tired of even the best cold weather outfits and am always eagerly awaiting the spring refresh of my wardrobe.
I’m even more excited for this year’s spring reset because Arlene Goldstein‘s three Belk style statements for the season fall right in line with my personal tastes. (Love when that happens.)
Feminine Charms: “The season has gone girly with Feminine Charms. From ultra-romantic to the chic eccentric with a femme flare, this is a fashion story that delivers a dynamic aura.”
Clean Slate: “Clean Slate touts strong sculptural shapes and understated elegance, causing minimal chic to have maximum impact. Check out A-line silhouettes, asymmetric detailing and architectural lines.”
Jetsetter: “As a style statement, ‘Jetsetter’ always says ‘Yes,’ to a tribal twist with a multi-cultural mix. Neutrals, especially khakis and greens, need no introduction. Details include both utility and handcrafted elements such as zips, pockets, studs and grommets along with ornate embellishments, tassels, fringe and frayed edges. Jacquards, silks, sheers, linen and washed poplin are just a few of the textiles that inspire this indisputably cool glam gal.”
Arlene Goldstein is a “seasoned fashion veteran, (and) Vice President of Trend Merchandising and Fashion Direction for Belk, Inc.” according to a Belk press release, and if you ever get the chance to meet her in person and listen to her trend forecasting, she certainly walks the walk to back up the PR talk. Follow her fashion updates on Twitter at @BelkFashionBuzz.
