{You’re Invited} Vietri Founders Event in Chapel Hill on Friday

Thanks to I <3 Retail reader Pat for the tip on this event happening in the always charming Meadowmont Village in Chapel Hill on Friday (tomorrow!)... totally worth the drive for you Raleigh-area readers! Vietri is an Italian dinnerware and home décor company with its roots right here in North Carolina – in Hillsborough to be exact (stop by sometime and check out their Hillsborough outlet store!). The back story from their website:

The story of VIETRI started with a mother, Lee Gravely, and two daughters, Susan and Frances, on a magical trip to Italy in 1983. While visiting the Amalfi coast, they stayed at the San Pietro Hotel in Positano where they fell in love with the colorful, handcrafted dinnerware at their hotel.

With what the trio describes as “typical family curiosity,” they arranged to meet the artisans and spend three days watching them work at a nearby factory. Friendships developed between the talented Italians and the charming southern women who were enamored with their work. The trio returned home with “mix-and-match” patterns featuring whimsical cows, horses, rams and fish called Campagna that would become VIETRI’s flagship dinnerware line.

Back to the event at hand: SOUTH in Meadowmont will be hosting a Vietri Founders event on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 5 pm until 7pm, which will also benefit Raleigh-area non-profit, The Green Chair Project. Bring at least 4 pieces of gently used dinnerware with you to SOUTH on Friday to receive a 20% discount on your dinnerware purchase.
