We’ve all got extra shoes… many of them are probably in great shape, too. (And don’t forget to check your kids’ closets, if you have kiddos.) So what can do you do with all of those extra shoes? Bring them to the Share Our Shoes {Raleigh} Back-2-School Shoe-Mania event in Downtown Raleigh this weekend!
This shoe distribution event for children in need takes place on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 10:00am until 2:00pm in Moore Square and is hosted by local non-profit organization Share Our Shoes (SOS).
If you know of a family who is in need of back to school shoes, please encourage them to attend! (Children must be present to receive shoes – call SOS to register or visit their website. There is no cost, but a donation is encouraged, if you are able to do so. If the family in need of shoes does not have a phone available, a child with an obvious need for shoes will benefit without being pre-registered, according to the good folks at Share Our Soles.)
You can get involved by collecting shoes from your friends, family, and neighbors. You can volunteer to help with the event. You can help by simply making a donation! Three easy ways to pay it forward this weekend.
