NC State’s inaugural Fashion Week kicked off on Wednesday afternoon at the North Carolina State University College of Textiles (my alma mater!) and has been going strong since.
Industry leaders from Ralph Lauren, VF (The North Face, Seven for All Mankind, Ella Moss, etc.), Cotton, Inc., and others have been on campus for three days viewing the best in innovation and creativity and attending workshops featuring the same, with specific focus on global fashion students.
Two of my WRAL.com colleagues, Kathy and Tara, got the chance to attend Wednesday’s avant-garde fashion show on campus and took some amazing pictures they’ve posted online:

Speaking of which… tonight, at 7:30 p.m., the university will host a closing ceremony and final fashion show to wrap up the buzz-worthy event. The “Color Fusion” closing fashion show costs $75.00 to attend – with cash tickets available at the door, but it looks like you can also buy them in advance online. Student tickets are available for purchase from any student K-12 and university students. Student tickets may require a valid student ID at the event.
In my humble opinion, I always look much better dressed when what I’m wearing underneath also looks fab! Here’s a great sale from J. Alane’s {Cary} – perfect for a pretty pick-me-up, but also a great place to pick up a gift for a bride-to-be’s lingerie party (it’s not only flip flop season, but also wedding season, y’all…).

I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the gang just west of the Triangle who organized Cash Mob Greensboro a few weekends ago – according to their Facebook page, “approx 30 people participated – pumping $500 back into the community”. That is awesome and the pictures show what a great time retailers and shoppers had participating. The only thing I want to know is when are we going to do this in Raleigh? Because I’m so in!
