Trig Modern Announces The Cat’s Meow Happening May 10

Trig Modern and SAFE Haven for Cats Are Bringing in Local Triangle Designers and Architects for a Good Cause

On Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, Trig Modern design center and showroom located in Raleigh will host “The Cat’s Meow“ The Cat’s Meow is an auction of modern, professionally designed houses for cats to benefit SAFE Haven for Cats – a non-profit, no-kill shelter in Raleigh.

The Cat's Meow Auction

This event invites architects and designers throughout the Triangle area to create unique, modern cat houses that people will be delighted to have in their homes. Designers are encouraged to think of their contributions as furniture or accessories, rather than a distraction from the home’s décor.

Trig Modern owner Bob Drake and lead interior designer Ann Marie Baum were inspired to organize and present “The Cat’s Meow” after seeing the results of a similar event in Los Angeles. Baum, a SAFE Haven volunteer, knew that SAFE Haven for Cats would be the perfect organization to collaborate with.

The auction will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on May 10, during a Cocktail Party in Trig Modern’s showroom located at Dock 1053 East Whitaker Mill Road. The auction and party are free and open to the public.

Professional auctioneer Ben Ferrell is donating his services to the events. Completed cat houses will be delivered to Trig Modern between May 4 and 6 and remain on display in the showroom until the night of the cocktail party and auction. Those interested in bidding may stop in the showroom anytime during business hours (Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to take a close look at the houses prior to the auction.

Anyone interested in participating in “The Cat’s Meow” – by designing a cat house, providing in-kind donations, etc. – should contact Ann Marie Baum as soon as possible either by phone at Trig Modern, 919.516.8744, or by emailing her at annmariebaum7@gmail.com.
