It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like the Holidays, Y’all!

the iheart retail enews(Ahem, I’m looking at you neighbor across the street with the Christmas lights up already.)

While I myself am a “no Christmas music before the day after Thanksgiving” kind of girl, I can’t help but love seeing all of my favorite local retailers getting their stores ready for the holidays with festive decorations, new lines for the season, and you guessed it… holiday shopping events and specials!

This weekend (starting tonight!) marks the official holiday season kick off for many of the area’s local shopping desinations and the events and special savings are sure to keep coming in full force right through the New Year’s sales… so be a great friend and remind those around you to join us on facebook and sign up for the email newsletter so no one misses out on all the fun!

While there, why not take the opportunity support Camp Firefly (created by Kirk Cameron, from Growing Pains and Fireproof) and give terminally-ill children and their families the chance to have fun at an all-expense paid summer camp? The CAPCOMMUNITY of CAPTRUST Financial Advisors and North Hills are banding together to help. With a silent auction and donation locations at the shops, you can help, too!

Drawing an estimated 60,000 spectators from across the state to downtown Raleigh and reaching more than 250,000 through television and live video streaming on WRAL.com, the parade is the largest single-day event in Raleigh each year! It is the largest parade between Atlanta and Washington, D.C.

The official parade route, approximately 1.4 miles and lasts about 2.5 hours, will begin at the intersection of Hillsborough Street and St. Mary’s Street starting at 9:30am. Live television coverage begins at 10 a.m. The parade will continue down Fayetteville Street and conclude at the intersection of Fayetteville and Lenoir streets.
